Our National Schools Outreach Programme

Research undertaken by QA Apprenticeships found that 80% of students know little, or nothing about IT and professional apprenticeships. That is a scary number, especially when you consider that the apprenticeship levy (introduced in April 2017) will ensure that all major UK employers will be looking to introduce formal apprenticeship schemes for its entry-level talent.

To tackle this issue and help raise awareness of apprenticeships amongst school-leavers, QA launched its national schools outreach programme in 2015. Our team of schools liaison officers visit schools across the country giving careers talks, hosting parents evenings and holding job drop-in clinics to help schools to support their students in making the right career choices.
