Job Details:

Responsibilities of the Apprentice – In this role, you will be:

  • Supporting the divisional and project management community to facilitate effective project control, delivery of projects and assist in the development of tools to predict, report & maintain project performance
  • Identifying areas of discrepancy and / or deviation
  • Learning from the technical teams to develop an understanding of the project portfolio
  • Seeking root-cause problems and find solutions
  • Working to set monthly project lifecycle deadlines that cannot be missed

Requirements of the Apprentice

You will ideally have:

  • IT skills and knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • An interest in project management
  • An appreciation of cost, planning and project management principles/techniques
  • Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Good telephone manners and a good attention to detail
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet project/business deadlines
  • Reliability and will be conscientious
  • A willingness to learn and confidence to ask questions if unsure, as well as being able to challenge individuals
  • An A level or a Level 3 in a similar subject or holds an existing project management award i.e. Prince 2

Training available for the Apprentice

Starts with an 18-24 month Higher Project Management apprenticeship, which combines training and work-based assessment, covering: Leadership skills, Communications, Finance & risk management and Stakeholder management.

You will gain Associate of Project Management (APM), and EAL Level 4 Diploma in Project Management. This fantastic opportunity can potentially lead to you earning £47k in a project management role.

Additional information

Working days/hours – Monday-Friday, 37hrs per week

You will need to be willing to work additional hours on occasions, if required for a specific reason

This role requires an SC security clearance
