Our apprenticeships can span from Intermediate all the way up to Degree, allowing you to take your learning as far as you want to go in a variety of industries - from local creative agencies to large multinational corporations.

What will you learn?

Our IT Systems and Networking Advanced to Higher apprenticeship combines high-quality classroom training with practical, hands-on work experience, to develop your real-world skills using the most popular IT technologies.

What qualifications will you get?

In England

  • Advanced Apprenticeship Infrastructure Technician Level 3 (equivalent to A-level educational level)
  • Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) Networking Fundamentals
  • MTA Mobility and Devices Fundamentals
  • MTA Cloud Fundamentals
  • Choice of two Microsoft MOC on Demand courses (one in part 1 and one in part 2)
  • Higher Apprenticeship Network Engineer Level 4 (equivalent to first year of degree study)
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) – Administering and Configuring Windows Server 2012 R2

In Scotland

  • SQA SCQF 6 Diploma in ICT and Telecommunication Professional (equivalent to working at Advanced Higher/HNC level)
  • SQA SCQF 8 Diploma in ICT and Telecommunication Professional (equivalent to second year of degree study)
  • Microsoft and Cisco qualifications 

Is this the programme for you?

Our IT Technician Advanced to Higher programme is the perfect starting point for anyone wanting to begin a career in IT but don’t just take our word for it, hear from some of our learners, Amber and Chantal, who recently completed this programme with us.  

 

Are you eligible?

Our Advanced to Higher programme is our most common entry point but if you have studied IT extensively in the past then you may be able to jump straight in at the half-way point (Higher). We will work with you to establish the most appropriate study route.

In order to qualify for this programme you need to have:

  • An interest in technology, but that doesn’t mean that you have to have studied IT at school
  • Live in England? You will need 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A-C in any subject, plus GCSE English and Maths (or equivalents) at Grade D or above
  • Live in Scotland? You will need 5 Standard Grades (Level 1 - 3) or 5 National Level 5 Grades - both including Maths and English

Not quite got the right qualifications?

No dramas. Our Intermediate apprenticeship is a 14 week boot camp which will get you up to the level needed to start this programme.
